How Much CBD Oil Should I Give My Dog

Several people these days have found that cannabidiol, abbreviated as CBD holds impressive potential for their health. The popularity of CBD can be estimated from the fact that the consumer sales of CBD are expected to reach around 1.8 billion U.S. dollars by 2022. But, is it beneficial for our canine friends too? How much CBD oil should I give my dog? Well, some recent researches definitely suggest so. Many dogs with mammary tumors, heart murmurs and arthritis have been successfully managed with the help of CBD oil.

The CBD market is booming and today, it is available in the form of topical-sprays, oral sprays and even dog treats. While you may want to try it immediately with your furry friend, it’s important to know the right way of giving it. Here’s what you should know, if you are giving CBD oil to your dog for the first time.

What is CBD?

Before you start to look into CBD for your dog/dogs, it is important to understand what it is and from where it is derived.

CBD or Cannabidiol is a Cannabinoid or Cannabis compound derived from cannabis plant. It is emerging as a promising therapy with significant health benefits.  While, humans have been using CBD for quite some time now, pet owners are a little wary of giving it to their dogs or Flemish Giant rabbits. But, some researches confirm that the absence of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) makes pure CBD safe for even pets to consume. Knowing how much CBD oil to give my dog, along with understanding your pet is the key to successful results.

Is CBD oil addictive?

Marijuana contains THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), which leads to a type of euphoric or hazy mindset when ingested or smoked. Cannabis plant on the other hand contains only insignificant traces of THC. Also, in medicinal CBD, THC is fully removed, which makes pure CBD absolutely safe and non-addictive. So, based on its chemistry, it can be said that the CBD oil is not addictive. 100% pure cannabidiol does not produce any physical withdrawal symptoms; hence it is not physically addictive.

How does CBD oil work?

Endocannabinoid system, which is an interconnected chain of receptors, is found in the nervous system, brain, glands and other organs. This endocannabinoid system acts as body’s command centre for health and healing. All mammals, including – humans and dogs rely on endocannabinoid system to regulate the body’s immune response. CBD oil works by interacting with these receptors to act as a neuroprotective agent. It also helps regulate body’s immune response to promote good health and healing.

How Much CBD Oil Should I Give My Dog?

This will largely depend on the age, condition and weight of your pet. Most importantly, you understanding your pet best. For instance, seniors that are showing signs of arthritis in dogs, but otherwise is in good health. We suggest to start with 1-2 mg of CBD per 10 pounds of dog, three times daily for a week. This begins to build up the levels in their system. If you notice he is feeling better, then you can give him a twice daily dosing session. If he is not doing as well as before, then you can go back to a three times daily routine. It is all a trial and error. This is why knowing your pet best is the key to finding the sweet spot for your pet.

As more and more researches have come out in favor of CBD, the veterinarians have finally agreed on some of the most basic uses of CBD oil. Even the FDA has approved a drug derived from CBD recently.

For pets, CBD is available in the form of pills, in liquid form as well infused in treats. While, treats infused with CBD may sound completely harmless, it is still good to consider the recommended dosages and recognize the possible side effects associated with CBD. Side effects associated with CBD are very rare but they still have been reported. Some warning signs include – disorientation, vomiting, drowsiness or excitement after ingesting CBD. If you notice any of these symptoms, it is always good to consult your trusted vet.

Consult your vet

Even if you live in one of those areas where CBD is legal, it is always a good idea to consult your vet before administering it to your pet. While your vet won’t himself suggest it, he/she would definitely be happy to answer all your doubts and queries related to it. A holistic vet can also help you find answer to your queries.

Things to keep in mind when buying CBD

Although 100% pure CBD oil is said to be absolutely safe for pets, you should always be careful when buying CBD. Make sure the company you are buying CBD from is able to provide Certificate of Analysis, or COA. This way you will have peace of mind that the CBD product you are using is free of THC and contaminants, such as – heavy metals and fungicides. If a company refuses to provide you Certificate of Analysis, it should be seen as a red flag.

Which conditions can CBD oil be beneficial for?

CBD oil can be helpful in a multitude of health conditions in dogs, like:

  • CBD can help the symptoms of anxiety and depression.
  • help the symptoms of Seizures and Epilepsy.
  • CBD can help ease the pain and signs of arthritis in dogs
  • CBD is used to alleviate nausea.
  • used to aid comfort for dogs with cancer. According to some recent studies, CBD stops the growth of cancer cells.
  • CBD can be used to mitigate hot spots and other skin and coat conditions.
  • CBD is used to calm gastrointestinal issues

Although, CBD oil is beneficial in many health conditions, it’s important to remember that CBD oil isn’t a cure for the health conditions, it just alleviates their symptoms.

Wrap Up

Nothing can be more disheartening than seeing our furry friend not enjoying their life to the fullest. Sometimes, despite trying our best, they will still struggle with their health issues. Fortunately, CBD can help your pets through those issues, giving them the happy life they deserve. So, talk to your holistic vet today about the benefits of CBD oil for your pet and give your pet the happy and healthy life he/she deserves.

Tame Your Dog Fireworks Anxiety

You will want to tame your dog fireworks anxiety with 4th of July around the corner. Many of our furry friends do not see the excitement and grandeur of fireworks the way we see it.  Instead, they cower in fear and imagine Armageddon happening all round us. It is totally natural for dogs to be afraid of loud noises. It triggers the nervous system with a flight mode which causes a lot of stress and anxiety. We as pet parents do not like to see our pets suffer in this state of anxiety. We often ask ourselves how we can help our pets and what to give your dog for fireworks anxiety.

These top 4 tips should help ease some of the dog fireworks anxiety.

Provide a Safe Spot

Whether it’s their crate, under your bed, in a closet, under your home office desk, it’s good idea for your pet to have a place where they feel safe relaxing or hiding. Dogs are hibernating animals by nature. So it should be a natural place for them to be at ease and be able to seek refuge. Keep in mind, if they are not used to a crate or a spot that causes them more anxiety, this should be avoided.

Ambient White Noise

Playing classical music or other calming “white noise” will work to drown out the sounds of the fireworks. And playing the music loud enough to effectively drown the noise out.

An Alternative Temporary Living Arrangement

Another option: take them to a friend or relative’s home that your pet is familiar with, that won’t have these loud fireworks displays. Don’t forget to give them something your dog is used to having at home like his bed or favorite toys.

Giving an Edible All Natural Calming Cannabis Dog Treats (CBD Dog Treats)

There is an all natural way to minimize this is with CBD dog treats for fireworks anxiety. CBD is a compound in the cannabis plant that can help with a host of symptoms such as:

  • Seizures/ Epilepsy
  • Inflammation
  • GI Problems
  • Anxiety/ Stress
  • Pain
  • Limping
  • End of Life Care
  • Arthritis
  • Cancer
  • Poor appetite
  • Vomiting
  • Degenerative Joint Disease
  • Aging & Overall Wellness

Hemp oil has been known to have a multitude of beneficial properties for humans who have similar endocannabinoid systems (ECS) as dogs, cats, rats, etc. The ECS is a group of receptors in humans and animals that are responsible for mood control, anxiety, stress, fear, appetite and pain, this is why cannabis dog treats make a great added all-natural alternative on how to help dog with arthritis, dog limping, as well as other symptoms.

Solving Problems Naturally: CBD Healthy Pet Products

Cannabidiol (CBD) oil-based supplements and treats for both cats and dogs continue to grow in popularity.  More pet owners begin to recognize their potential benefits. Despite the fact that it’s still a relatively new category, there already are a lot of options. Shoppers might need quite a bit of assistance in choosing what’s best for their pet.

“At SuperZoo in 2016, there were only a few booths exhibiting CBD products,” Grow said. “In 2017, it was a flood of new CBD exhibitors. And I expect even more next year.”

Chelsea Joyce said the interest in CBD products comes at a time when pet owners and retailers recognize that pharmaceutical drugs can sometimes be harmful. Or even make a pet’s health issue worse due to side effects. As medical cannabis has become increasingly acceptable, people are beginning to understand it might also be a positive option for their pets, she said.

“Consumers are seeking out transparency and education in CBD products—just like they want with the rest of the healthy pet products they purchase from the independent retailer,” Joyce said. “Unfortunately, there have been no regulations set up within the CBD world. In order to keep customers and retailers properly informed, it is up to the manufacturer to educate them on the difference between the products that are out there.”

More Insider Insight

“The driving trend is the fact that pet parents want natural solutions for their pets,” Strong said. “They’re doing their best to get away from prescription drugs when they can solve a problem more naturally.”

CBD healthy pet products are becoming more popular for treating human health needs, and the trend is trickling down to pets.

“As more and more people are either reading about the benefits of CBD for pets or using it themselves. They are interested in providing the same relief to their pets,” said Jodi Ziskin, communications director for Treatibles in Oakland, Calif.

DO YOUR HOMEWORK

There’s no question that education is incredibly valuable in the cannabidiol (CBD) category. Heidi Nevala, president of Petabis Organics, said that not all CBD is created equal. It is important to understand the differences.

“Ask for documentation regarding your supplier’s cultivation, harvest and extraction process,” Nevala said. “As a reseller partner, your supplier should happily supply this type of information in detail. Most CBD products on the market are isolates.

There are a lot of false claims and products out there that are not what shoppers think they are, said Denise Strong, co-owner of Pawz on Main in Cottonwood, Ariz. It can make the shopping experience for customers overwhelming.

“Because it’s still so new, and there’s a lot of misinformation out there. People buy products that are knock-offs without even realizing it,” Strong said. “I had one customer that spent over $100 on a bottle of hemp oil, and it turned out that 85 percent of the bottle was olive oil. The problem is that people don’t have the time to do all the research to understand what they’re buying.”

Retailer Education

“Honesty and transparency are the most important things in this category as they discuss CBD products with their customers. — Chelsea Joyce, vice president of sales for Pet Releaf in Englewood, Colo. “CBD and hemp products are possibly, the least understood and most widely misrepresented products in the pet industry. It is imperative that a manufacturer is able to prove where their hemp is coming from. Prove with certifications if they are claiming organic and prove whether they are using true hemp strains or marijuana hybrids. Retailers need to educate themselves as much as possible so that they fully understand that CBD products are vastly different in safety and efficacy.”

Aquila Brown, president of The Yuppy Puppy in Spokane, Wash., noted that ensuring staff members are well educated is important.

“We do lengthy training with our staff so they understand what CBD products are. What they can be used for and what they can’t be used for. And how they’re different from human products, and how to approach customers about it,” Brown said.

MARKETING

GENERATE INTEREST IN CBD

There are a lot of ways marketing campaigns can be used to draw attention to CBD healthy pet products. Marketing efforts also pose an additional opportunity to educate the public.

Blogging is always a great outlet to get people interested in CBD products, said Jennifer A. Chiongbian, owner of Denver-based Bark Avenue. Bark Avenue. She also has a video tutorial on YouTube that teaches How to Make Dog Treats with CBD Oil and How to Buy CBD Oil. The more you can educate the public, the better, she said.

Taste-testing is a great way to get pet owners excited, said Heidi Nevala, president and founder of Petabis Organics in Minneapolis.

“Pet parents are often worried that their pet will not like the taste,” she said. “We sample our CBD snacks heavily.  Our Calming Support Snack is a direct way to measure the stress-relieving effects on their dog.  When their dog also loves the taste, the pet parent’s confidence soars.”

Denise Strong, co-owner of Pawz on Main in Cottonwood, Ariz., said she hosted a Lunch & Learn on the ABCs of CBD. And that it was incredibly popular. She ran an ad in her local paper, handed out fliers and targeted her email base. The result was a huge turnout and a lot of customers asked when the store will do it again, Strong said.

CBD Oil Benefits for Dogs

CBD is one of the dozens of cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. It is non-psychoactive so it makes it a gentler alternative in seeking relief from inflammation, pain, anxiety, seizures, spasms and other chronic ailments. So, what are some of the CBD oil benefits for dogs?

According to  The Haddassah Medical School and Hebrew University of Jerusalem, they compared the effectiveness of purified CBD oil (isolates) versus a full spectrum extract.  They found that the whole plant extract that contained traces of other cannabinoids, proved to be superior in alleviating pain and inflammation than the purified version.¹

Now that the cannabis industry is becoming more mainstream and more widely accepted, people are trying it as a means of alternative, natural medicine. With many human success stories abound, it only seems natural that we think about the CBD oil benefits has done for loved ones, that we want to include our pets in the healing process.

CBD oil benefits for dogs dealing with chronic illnesses:

  • Seizures/ Epilepsy
  • Inflammation
  • GI Problems
  • Anxiety/ Stress
  • Pain
  • Limping
  • End of Life Care
  • Arthritis
  • Cancer
  • Poor appetite
  • Vomiting
  • Degenerative Joint Disease
  • Aging & Overall Wellness²

How Does CBD Oil Work?

One of the reasons the cannabis plant provides many benefits for humans, dogs and other animals is due to the fact that we have similar endocannabinoid systems (ECS). The ECS is a receptor system in charge of pain sensation, mood, and appetite.  This is largely why big pharma tests on rats, cats,  rabbits, dogs and other animals before going to human clinical trials.  They know and understand the effects will be similar to what they can expect in humans.

The benefits of CBD oil are numerous. And the best part is, CBD has no reported incidences of  overdose or complications when used with pharmacological drugs.  At best, if you give your pet too much, it gets lazy. If you don’t give enough, then there is no effect.  We recommend 1-2 mg of CBD per ten pounds of dog as a starting point. This can be adjusted accordingly depending on the age and condition of the dog. Overall, it is a safe, natural way to help alleviate symptoms of aging, end of life care, and even the dreaded what to give dogs for fireworks anxiety.

What’s the Difference Between Hemp Dog Treats and CBD Dog Treats?

Hemp vs. CBD

Hemp dog treats and CBD dog treats are the same and can be used interchangeably.  CBD dog treats are called by active cannabinoids in the cannabis plant, cannabidiol, or CBD for short.

Hemp dog treats is called by the variety of cannabis plant, that happens to be high in CBD compounds.  The  plant is also known as “Industrial Hemp”. One will often read that a product is manufactured using hemp oil or industrial hemp. Again, this is one and the same.

In summation, this type of product will either be called by the active compound CBD, or the variety of plant the active compound comes from, hemp.

To further confuse people, CBD has been cracked down by anyone and everyone. From Facebook advertising to listings on EBay, Amazon, to merchant processing, and the list goes on.  People that work and manufacture in this industry  are come up with new acronyms such as “PCR Oil”. This is just as the general public is starting to educate themselves to the term “CBD”.  One of the reasons the term “hemp” started being used in place of CBD. Another way to seem more innocuous and fly under the radar. It is a delicate business balancing act, and being able to have people find your product and not get shut down.

New Trend?

Be on the look out: “PCR Oil”, or phytocannabinoid rich oil may be the next synonymous term birthed from the controversial “CBD” moniker after businesses start encountering more and more problems; and other creative ways to describe products using CBD or hemp oil.  This will continue until the hemp plant is re-classified out of Schedule I drug status, and hopefully lands and is managed under the Department of Agriculture to be listed as an industrial crop like corn or soy. Until then, the public can expect to have confusing labeling and names for the same type of product that change frequently and faster than the general public can keep up with.

Update

With the passing of the 2018 Farm Bill, hemp has now been re-classified and it is legal to grow in the US. Previously it had only been legal in a handful of states. Soon many other states began to follow and thus the passing of the bill. This enables the USDA to administer farm programs and provide guidelines and eligibility for growers and extractors. It is the first step to legal regulation of the hemp industry. There is still much to do and large bridges to close the gap, but it’s a start. We will keep you abreast of new developments as they unfold.

Don’t be afraid to ask your CBD manufacturer if they are using oil that is coming for USDA certified facilities. Any added form of safety in a not so fully regulated industry helps every little bit.

We at Bark Avenue Hemp Treats use a vertically integrated CBD manufacturer.  They grow, harvest, extract and test all under one roof.  FDA approved facility, non-GMO, organic with complete SDS information and licenses and certificates.  This is the best way to have full quality control over your supply chain. Less outsourcing means less room for error. We take product safety very seriously, and that means your pet’s health is our number one priority.

What is CBD Oil versus PCR Oil?

We first heard of this of all places, at Super Zoo in 2017, the world’s largest pet retailer trade show in the world. A former Colorado oil vendors happened to be there as we shared information on the cannabis industry happenings.

What is CBD?

CBD is short for cannabidiol, just one of many cannabinoid compounds in the cannabis plant.  This makes up a large portion of the industrial hemp plant from where the oil is extracted.  The other cannabinoids can consist of CBG, CBN, CBC’s,etc.  Aside from these general CB compounds in the cannabis plant, there are also THC compounds. THC is famously responsible for the “high”.  Industrial hemp that is rich in CBD does not generate a “high”.

Many people who do not operate in the cannabis space are unfamiliar with these nuances in terminology.  Least of all, being aware of pharmaceutical companies that are positioning themselves for the CBD market to be blown wide open. One such entity is GW Pharmaceuticals out of the UK who has a trademark pending on the terminology “CBD”. If they are awarded this trademark, all business using the term “CBD” will have to cease and desist in its usage. In the meantime, this term is steadily growing, and commonly associated to describe the oils extracted from the hemp plant. Currently this trademark term is being used generically, and the trademark owner may need to take aggressive measures to retain rights to the trademark.  GW Pharma is fighting for the sole use of the “CBD” term.

What is PCR Hemp oil?

In comes PCR oil.  It stands for phytocannabinoid rich oil. In essence, this is a much more complete definition of what CBD oil truly embodies.  We believe it’s a much more targeted definition of what the cannabis oil truly is.  Phyto, meaning  of a plant, or relating to a plant. In short, it is ALL the plant derived cannabis compounds in the oil, and not just the CBD compound in particular. In short, it is a fancier name for what is commonly known as CBD.

Any full spectrum oil is just this, a whole plant oil with all the benefits that nature had intended. This includes the trace amounts of THC, and all the other 113 active cannabinoids.

If GW Pharmaceuticals wins the right to exclusively use the term “CBD”, the next game of semantics will be on. We will have to find a new generic term to replace this.  Perhaps this will be the use of “PCR”.  As language and uses constantly evolve, the uses of terminology in the cannabis space will not be an exception. It will be interesting to see what happens to this common use of this acronym in the next couple of years or so. Watch out for a possible rise of “PCR” and other terms to substitute “CBD” in the event this happens.

In just under a year,  CBD was used to describe any and all products made with industrial hemp. Now there has already been a shift in the cannabis space where people are no longer embracing it as a marketing term.  This all due to the consequences of garnering unwanted attention.

Case Study:

When Bark Avenue Hemp Treats started out, we used Bark Avenue CBD Dog Treats as a descriptor. And within a few months, products using the terminology “CBD” were starting to get flagged by numerous organizations. We had our credit card processing shut down; the denial and or ending of listing products on platforms such as Amazon and EBay; and the dis-allowing the promotion of our Facebook advertising page.  In a similar fashion, Google Ad Words soon followed.

So, these are just some of the examples of what operators in the cannabis space have to deal with.  Aside from the typical business fires that one has to douse on a day to day basis, we have those specific to an emerging market. So those of us who choose to work with products like this, despite it being “everywhere”, doesn’t mean it can be treated just like any other legal product on the market.  This is the main reason we started making a concerted effort to using “hemp”; sadly, just the general public just started opening their eyes to the terminology of “CBD”.  It’s a tricky, daily balancing act of trying to be a popular well known brand whilst flying under the radar; and –keeping abreast of the laws and expensive attorneys to keep one’s company out of trouble.

Consequently,  there was a large oil producing company that literally had to re-brand their company since it had “CBD” in its name. To this day, I only remember them by their original name…

CBD vs. Hemp

Thus far “hemp” has been the more accepted “innocent term” in contrast to CBD. But, people are still confused about CBD and hemp.

CBD is the active compounds extracted from the hemp plant via the oils. Hemp is a subset of the actual cannabis plant where the CBD’s are extracted. So, it’s a choice of whether to call it by the plant that supplies the active compounds or, to call it by the active ingredient extracted from the plant. But they are one and the same.

The beauty about the hemp plant is that it can be used for clothing, fiber, building material, a substitute for some plastics, and lastly for the oil.

Conclusion

If CBD becomes a proprietary term for use only by GW Pharmaceuticals, this will be a much more complicated market with made up monikers. This will further confuse the general public.  And it will a create a setback on any educational progress we have made about what is CBD good for.

Studies

Research shows that the benefits of  CBD oil, also known as cannabidiol, include acting as an anti-inflammatory, anticonvulsant, antioxidant, antiemetic, anxiolytic and antipsychotic agent, and is therefore a potential medicine for the treatment of neuroinflammation, epilepsy, oxidative injury, vomiting and nausea, anxiety and schizophrenia. ²

“…dogs do have the same natural cannabinoid receptors in the endocannabinoid systems (ECS) as humans,” according to Dr. Lascelles. (The ECS involves physiological processes such as appetite, pain sensation, mood and memory.) These receptors are found in the dog’s brain and peripheral nervous system.³

Cannabis [sic] is becoming more widely accepted for its potential medical uses, not just for people, but for companion animals too. Scientists have so far recognized up to 60 important chemicals, or cannabinoids, unique to marijuana.  According to the National Cancer Institute, “cannabinoids activate specific receptors found throughout the body to produce pharmacologic effects, particularly in the central nervous system and the immune system.” These natural chemicals may be helpful in treating cancer-related symptoms such as pain.”4

We use a full spectrum oil. The full spectrum version ensures the inclusion of all the benefits of the complete plant. This is known as the “Entourage Effect”.

Fun fact: Because we have similar endocannabinoid systems (ECS) to dogs cats, rats, pigs, etc. Therefore, big pharma uses them as test subjects to see how they will react. The ECS is responsible for mood, appetite, stress, anxiety and pain and other systems that put our bodies in homeostasis. Simply put–in balance.

CBD oil is an all natural alternative that is safe with very little side effects. The most common side effect would be diarrhea. But in contrast to vet prescriptions that lead to liver and kidney damage, this is a much safer alternative. This is nature at her finest.

Buying Guide

Cannabis is on the rise among dog owners who have ailing or aging dogs with chronic illnesses, they are looking for a natural solution in aiding pet wellness. We make our treats with whole ingredients. And have no preservatives or additives. We source our ingredients through sustainable sources to help do our share to protect the environment.

Our treats are manufactured in an SQF3 facility which is the highest rating for food safety standards. We make it in small controlled batches to ensure the highest safety and quality standards. The oil we use comes from a fully integrated grower, cultivator and manufacturer in Colorado. Even lab testing is done in-house.  This ensures full quality control and safety. Furthermore, we do third party testing on all product because we take your pet’s health seriously.

Product sold over the counter are made with industrial hemp oil.  Hemp is rich in cannabidiol and is non-psychoactive. It is safe with no reported overdoses or conflicts when mixed with other medication. The psychoactive versions can be found at dispensaries, typically in the recreational side. This is classified as marijuana. We highly recommend caution and do your due diligence. If you choose to dose your pet with the psychoactive version, consult your vet.

Tinctures

This is the oil that comes with a dropper and in a 1 or 2 ounce bottle. It is given orally or mixed in with your pet’s food. It is mixed with a carrier oil, typically like coconut oil. This binds to the CBD compounds and give is a nice uniform consistency.

If you choose this route, we suggest looking for a dropper with graduations. The dropper method isn’t the most accurate. There are 20 drops to a 1 ml dropper. Dogs do not typically enjoy the flavor associated with tinctures.

Edibles

This would be a hard baked cookie, soft chew or any other infused form. Regardless of which form you dispense your pet’s meds, it will be a personal choice, as well as ease and convenience. This is usually easier to dose and give to your pet like any other regular treat.

Projection 2017

We believe that this emerging market will be a big player in the functional treat market. It will explode once CBD gets re-classified.  For now, cannabis in all forms, even industrial hemp where CBD oil for dogs is extracted from, is considered a Schedule I drug.  Hemp and the marijuana plant fall under the cannabis umbrella until further notice. Sadly, even though hemp has no psychoactive effects.

But that does not mean that hypocrisy doesn’t fall short on the government. They are saying that there are no medicinal benefits to the marijuana plant. This is their whole premise for classifying it as a Schedule I controlled substance. Yet, they own Patent No. 6,630,507. The very same government owning a patent for medical use for marijuana. In the meantime, business that operate in the gray areas of the cannabis industry have to deal with overlapping industries that often do not understand our restraints.

Update: The Hemp Farming Act of 2018

Since this bill was passed, hemp was removed a Schedule I substance. Hemp is defined as cannabis with less than 0.3% THC. It legalized the production of hemp. This law did not address the processing of hemp or the manufacture, distribution and sale of products made from hemp. This is why there are still so many gaps and unresolved issues especially with the sale of these types of products. It is a step in the right direction, but there is still a lot of obstacles and challenges.

Hemp can be used for textiles, rope, clothing, food, biofuel, insulation, shoes, bioplastics and much, much more. We are going to see an expansion of hemp into these industries in the future.

Also, the banking industry needs to follow any progress made on the federal level. We did notice one improvement, the increased in the number of payment processing companies. And their fees have also been much more competitive. The underwriting process has also not been as extensive as it was previously. Even Square the popular counterpart to Stripe, has joined in the game.

We will continue to keep our readers posted for new developments.
